About Caroline Ewan, LMFT
Welcome
My name is Caroline Ewan, and I have been dedicated to the mental health field since 2007. Throughout my career, I’ve gained experience working in diverse settings, including group homes, school-based services, home-based therapeutic programs, and private practice. I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and provide support for a wide range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, postpartum challenges, and parenting.
Having close ties to the military community, I understand the unique stressors families face. My husband served on active duty and is now a veteran, shaping my commitment to offering compassionate care to military families.
Outside of work, I love exploring the beauty of Idaho with my husband and children. We enjoy camping, paddleboarding, and crafting, and I always make time for a good book.
I am licensed to see clients in California and Idaho, and all sessions are held conveniently via a secure video platform. I look forward to working with you on your journey to be the best version of yourself.
Life moves fast; sometimes, we’re left scrambling to keep up. Feeling overwhelmed, withdrawing, or catching up in a whirlwind of racing thoughts is common. You might worry about being judged or feel like you’re not equipped to handle your emotions. If this resonates with you, know you don’t have to navigate these feelings alone. You might not have the tools to sort through or process these emotions, but therapy can help you build and refine those tools in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
What to Expect in Our Sessions
In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other. We’ll review the necessary paperwork, informed consent, and privacy practices, and I’ll answer any questions you may have. We’ll also discuss scheduling to ensure a consistent appointment time that fits your needs. I will ask various questions to understand your therapy goals and tailor our sessions to meet your needs.
Treatment Methods and Tools
I use a range of therapeutic approaches to address various issues, including stress management, couples’ issues, anxiety, and depression. I am particularly passionate about supporting mothers dealing with prenatal and postpartum anxiety or depression, as well as those experiencing grief and loss. My solution-focused approach aims to challenge and reframe negative thoughts and behaviors. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR therapy, which can be a powerful tool for processing and healing from trauma.
My Strengths and Personal Motivation
My extensive experience in community-based mental health has equipped me to meet clients where they are and offer compassionate and practical support. Nothing you share with me will ever change how I view you. My motivation to help others stems from my own mental health experiences and those of my family and friends. Being a first-generation American and married to a Marine Veteran has given me unique perspectives on life and the military world, enriching my ability to connect with and understand diverse experiences.
Personal Interests
Outside work, I enjoy reading, paddleboarding, working out, and spending time outdoors, whether camping or tending to my plants. Family time is important to me, and I cherish moments spent with loved ones.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or need someone to talk to, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth. Let’s work together to navigate these challenges and help you achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Feel free to contact me to schedule a session or ask any questions. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
